The Mallow Sylestre (Malva sylvestris), also known as the Large Blue-flowered Mallow or Wood Mallow, is a herbaceous plant belonging to the Malvaceae family. Mallow, a symbol of gentleness, is a hairy perennial plant about 50 cm tall, with rounded leaves and palmatifid and with beautiful purplish-pink flowers.
In the kitchen, there's no waste with the Mauve Blue Flower. It is consumed in its entirety: from head to toe. The leaves and stems can be eaten raw in salads or cooked in soups, gratins, pies, omelets, or pan-seared. Flower petals can be eaten raw in salads or desserts.
