ABSINTHE: THE GREAT PLANT
Very common in Europe, absinthe is primarily native to Europe and Asia. It grows in dry, rocky areas, but also in fields.
Absinthe is a plant that adapts easily to its environment, as long as it is exposed to heat. This plant is rich in beneficial properties, which is why it has so many uses:
- medicinal : dewormer, anti-fatigue, for seasickness and nausea
- as a tea : including beer and wine, in particular
- As a spirit : There are many absinthe-based liqueurs around the world
- in perfumery : Its frosty scent is a hit at perfume shops
And of course, we use absinthe as a spice. It's a great choice for seasoning grilled foods!
Did you know? Absinthe was considered one of the potential natural remedies for combating the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
