CELERY SALT
Celery Salt (Apium graveolens / traditional seasoning), an aromatic condiment with fresh, slightly herbaceous, and subtly salty notes, is ideal for enhancing soups, sauces, meats, vegetables, and Mediterranean dishes. Prized for its stimulating and digestive properties, it adds depth, intensity, and character to all your culinary creations. A natural product, it guarantees a unique aroma and carefully selected quality.
Celery salt is a great substitute for table salt. It is a mixture of white salt and celery seeds that have been grated, dried, and ground into a powder. It is the celery leaves that, once dried, are ground into a powder and mixed with the salt.
Our recipe calls for 30% of celery and 70% of salt.
This ingredient really shines when used to season soups, vegetables, and vegetable juices. It’s especially delicious paired with tomato or carrot juice.
The earliest traces of this salt can be found in the famous cocktail Bloody Mary, invented in the 1920s by the renowned French bartender Fernand Petiot. Today, this salt is frequently used in vegetable-based cocktails. Even the major fast-food chain KFC uses celery salt in its «secret» spice blend. In Chicago, this salt is often used with hot dogs.
Did you know? Be careful not to confuse it with salt from Celery. As the name suggests, it contains only celery.
