LEMON PEPPER
Lemon Pepper (Piper nigrum / aromatic spice), an aromatic spice with fresh, slightly tangy, and subtly peppery notes, is ideal for seasoning fish, poultry, sauces, salads, and exotic dishes. Prized for its stimulating and digestive properties, it adds freshness, intensity, and character to all your culinary creations. A natural product, it guarantees a unique aroma and carefully selected quality.
Our lemon pepper in bulk (known across the Atlantic as Lemon Pepper) is the perfect ingredient to surprise your guests and enhance your dishes. This blend perfectly combines the bold flavor of whole black peppercorns with the exceptional aromatic qualities of yellow lemon.
This pepper, as unique as it is, can be used in a wide variety of recipes: homemade salads, white fish, soups, white meats, stews, or sauces. Pepper, combined with desserts such as ice cream, can also be excellent (and even better if it contains pieces of lemon peel).
Our blend consists of 82% of black peppercorns and 18% of chopped lemon peel.
Pepper was originally cultivated on the west coast of India (the Malabar Coast). Over the centuries, its use quickly spread throughout the world. In the Middle Ages, spices such as pepper were very rare. So rare, in fact, that they were used as currency, which gave rise to several expressions of the time, such as «as expensive as pepper.» It even seems that the expression «to pay in cash» actually comes from «to pay in spices»!
Did you know? It's the Vietnam which, since 2001, has been the the world's leading producer of pepper.
