ORGANIC PROVENCE HERBS
Organic Herbes de Provence (a blend of aromatic herbs), a blend sourced from organic farming, offers fragrant, slightly woody, and subtly spicy notes—ideal for flavoring sauces, meats, vegetables, gratins, and Mediterranean dishes. Prized for its aromatic and invigorating properties, it adds freshness, authenticity, and character to all your dishes. As a natural product, it guarantees an intense aroma and rigorously selected organic quality.
Herbes de Provence are mainly composed of thyme, rosemary, basil, savory, marjoram, oregano, tarragon, bay leaf, fennel, and other herbs. They can be used in many ways in cooking, particularly to season grilled meats and fish skewers before cooking. You can also use them to enhance a wide variety of other dishes, such as vegetables, roast chicken, and even your pizzas!
When brewed as a tea, you can also enjoy their medicinal benefits.
The Herbes de Provence particularly thrive in light, well-drained soil and full sun. These are plants that maquis plants accustomed to relatively dry terrain. Ideally, one should plant them in full sun on sloping ground, where there is no risk of standing water, to ensure their growth.
Did you know?
The Herbes de Provence blend was invented by Gilbert Ducros. It was simply while he was out gathering herbs in the garrigue that he was inspired to combine several herbs to create this artful blend of spices. Today, only 10% of the dried Herbes de Provence sold in France are produced locally.
